Playing tourist...

Down at the Leg right now there is an exhibit of dolls from the Kivalliq region of NU. They are wonderful, beautiful handmade dolls. K...this is the kind of doll I have been trying to get for my niece.

NU flag on display

This block of snow/ice was fascinating. It was breaking off in icicles. The texture, the whiteness, the fragility of it was mesmerizing. The picture doesn't do it justice.

Aunt F with the amazing block of ice....proof she was actually in NU.

Aunt F holding a piece of snow, again proof of the visit...where else do you find snow in June.

This little guy popped up for a visit at the Tourist Information Centre. I have been in to the centre before, but never to the exhibit part. It was very nice. The whole thing is well done and the information was interesting.

One of the few polar bears the ladies have encountered on this trip. While it would be great to see a live bear...I still think it might be better to just see the stuffed ones in person and the live ones on film.

On exhibit in the tourist centre

As found in front of the Arctic College. From all angles and wonderful piece of art.

Annie Manning Lampron makes gorgeous dolls just like this. She also carves the heads from wood herself. They are a work of art. She lives in Cape Dorset.

Looks like you and the aunts are getting around. I hope they are having a ball as they have the best tour guide ever!
