SLAP. So, it finally happened. The fingers were slapped today over the blog entry from last week. I stand by what I wrote. I didn't lie. I think the Gov't should be doing more than they did. I know the Prem has contacts in Ottawa that are connected to fisheries and don't live in NU that he could call on to help...though I think he should rely on staff here...What did I say that was wrong?

Here's an interesting question to my fellow bloggers...

"What is the difference between an anonymous letter to the editor and a so-called anonymous blog?"

Any thoughts?

The Aunties and I had a marvelous day. The sun was shining and we took full advantage. A nice hike out at the park...leaving one injured, but not badly. She walked back to the truck so it's all good. A trip to the Legislative Assembly building this afternoon and the museum. Followed by a bottle (or two) of wine, a lovely supper--cooked by them, and then a slide show of India! Tomorrow night or the next we view slides of NU. They must be family to put with more than one night of "my summer vacation" slides.

There is something to be said about someone who stands by their principles. You have to show respect for those who do that. Good for you. If we back down from the stand we take then the question should be asked, "What do you stand for?".

Enjoy your weekend with the aunts!

Have to to say good for you for sticking to your convictions. I've written a few risque posts in the past and luckily haven't suffered any major fall-out. I just think its sad the GN silences dissent. Don't they realize that WE voted THEM into office. My take has always been that since I voted for THEM then THEY work for ME and not the other way around as so many of them so obviously seem to think. Who else is supposed to question the government and hold it accountable when the so-called opposition is simply not doing the job? Sad, sad, sad and wrong, wrong, wrong I say.

Keep up the good work....I enjoy your blog immensely.

Thanks Darcy. I appreciate the comment from you. I enjoy your blog as well and can't wait to read about your adventures this summer. If you have an overnight in Iqaluit, let me know and we will do coffee.

Dito. Good for you. We risk huge amounts when we dare say the emperor has no clothes on.

The difference, my blog isn't anonymous :)

And it isn't like you are going to great lengths to cover up your identity.

And you didn't call anyone a cow... you kept it professionalish, altough I would have substituted Premier for Paul, to show respect for the office if not the person occupying it

(Since I watch too much TV, see The West Wing, when they hire Lily Tomlin, she wrote a critical letter telling "President" Bartlett to get his head out of his ass before she was hired. He hired her because she used "President", showing respect for the institution.)

If your comments had of been made almost anywhere but here in Canada, it wouldn't have been a blip.
